On November 20th, 2023, I hosted a reenactment of Sister Corita Kent’s “Mary’s Day” from 1964. It was a true celebration of all things Corita plus a call for world peace through embrace of LGBTQIA+ people, especially those who are nonbinary ❣️.

There was a parade featuring signs painted by students and locals, a live student band, and speeches from members of the campus LGBTQIA+ community. We filmed the event to replicate Baylis Glascock’s film of the original event as closely as we could.

We collected gift cards and non-perishable food items for queer youth through @safehomesma which is a very special local nonprofit that creates fun and caring programming for young people in Worcester, MA.

This project was curated by Rachelle Beaudoin as part of “Always Be Around” at Holy Cross College.
